Leavenworth, Kan. – The Maryville University women's swim team secured a first-place victory Saturday afternoon in a dual meet against the University of Saint Mary. Junior Sarah Rosson and senior Taylor Norwood each collected two first place finishes at the Lansing High School pool just north of Kansas City, Mo. The squad won seven of the 11 overall events, which was enough to push the Saints past the Spires by a score of 115-84.
 
The Maryville University men's swim team raced to five first-place finishes Saturday, with senior Jack Riffel being involved in three of those events. Freshman Jake Morelli from Parkway West High School won his first ever race with a 10:45.18 1000-Yard Freestyle time, edging out the second-place competitor from Saint Mary by 0.12 seconds. The men from Maryville fell to the Spires 120-81.

Next Up – The women's team looks to ride the wave of this victory into next weekend when they compete in a tri-meet with McKendree University and Illinois State University. The meet will be in O'Fallon, Ill., at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex with a start time set for noon. The men aren't back in the water for two weeks when they travel with the women to Springfield, Mo., for the Drury Invitational on Friday, Nov. 5, and Saturday, Nov. 6, with a start time of 5 p.m.
