MLAX - Pregame meeting at Lindenwood 2021

Men's Lacrosse

No. 4 Maryville Faces No. 1 Lindenwood in GLVC Men's Lacrosse Tournament

The Maryville University men's lacrosse team earned the No. 4 seed for the 2021 Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament and faces No. 1 seed Lindenwood Friday, May 7, at 4 p.m. at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. No. 2 seed Indianapolis takes on No. 3 seed Rockhurst in the other semifinal. The championship game is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday, May 9, at Lindenwood University.

The top four teams based on Conference winning percentage received a berth in the single-elimination tournament. The tournament location was determined prior to the academic year. Although a double round-robin Conference-only format was scheduled this spring, cancelations resulted in some programs competing in an uneven amount of games.

The Saints (7-5) and Lions (9-2) split two close meetings earlier this season. Maryville posted an 8-7 overtime victory Feb. 24 at the Maryville Athletic Complex, while Lindenwood rallied in the fourth quarter for an 11-9 win April 6 at Hunter Stadium. Gates will open at 3 p.m. on Friday. Individuals must be on the "will call" list (200 per team) in order to purchase tickets.

Maryville has qualified for the all three GLVC Tournaments in the league's history. UIndy won the previous two tournaments held in 2018 and 2019. The 2020 championship was canceled due to the CoVID-19 pandemic.

The GLVC Men's Lacrosse Championship will be streamed live and free on all GLVC Sports Network platforms, including GLVCSN.com, iOS/Android mobile apps, and Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Android TV OTT apps.
