Mount Berry, Ga. - Maryville University men's tennis player Mario Aleksic saw action in three matches at the ITA CUP in Mount Berry, Ga. He was the first Saints qualifier for the national tournament in program history.
 
To start the championship main draw, Aleksic dropped a 6-2, 6-3 decision to Alexander Leischner of Point Loma Nazarene in the round of 16. In the consolation round, he faced Dom Spicer of Wayne State. Aleksic took the first set 6-3 but Spicer rallied to win the match 6-1, 6-2. Aleksic was scheduled to face Jorge Perez of University of Charleston but was forced to withdraw due to an injury to close his tournament.
 
Aleksic and the Saints will next be in action in the spring of 2023 to begin the NCAA Division II championship competition season.
