Maryville University juniors Taylor Hasbrook and Abbie Schnell were named to the 2022 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Volleyball team. The duo will be on the ballot for the Academic All-America Team to be announced later this fall. To be eligible for the All-District honor, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
 
Hasbrook has posted a 3.97 GPA while majoring in accounting. She led the Saints and ranked sixth in the GLVC in digs per set at 4.65. Hasbrook was third on the team with 31 service aces and had the most assists of any non-setter with 114. Her efforts helped the Saints rank second in the league in digs per set at 18.0.
 
Schnell is a biochemistry major and carries a 3.843 grade point average. She topped the Saints with 642 assists and tied for the team lead with 37 service aces. In addition, Schnell tallied 249 digs, to rank second on the team. Boosted by her efforts, Maryville was third in the GLVC in assists per set with a 12.8 average.
 
Hasbrook and Schnell helped the Saints post a Division II-era record 17 wins, the most wins since the 1999 season. This season, Maryville earned a berth into the GLVC Tournament for the first time.
 
The 2022 Academic All-District Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA — for each gender.
