ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Maryville swimming & diving competed in the University of Missouri - St. Louis Winter Quad Meet on Friday evening. The women earned a split against UMSL and Quincy University while the men lost a trio of matchups.

An impressive 140-35 victory over the Hawks gave the women their third win of the season before dropping the second 47-155 to UMSL. They sit at 3-4 after Friday. The men drop to 1-7 with losses to UMSL (27-171), Quincy (77-92), and Missouri S&T (27-168).

Courtney Harris led the way for the Saints once again. The junior from O'Fallon, Mo., picked up an event victory in the 50-yard freestyle (25.32) and a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (55.67).
Danielle Callahan also earned silver in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:38.79) and a bronze in the 500-yard freestyle (5:43.16).
Karen Bistrain (100-yard backstroke) and
Ella Fries (100-yard backstroke) did their parts with third-place finishes in their respective events.

Devon Tallent posted the top finish for the men, collecting 8
th place in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.34). Other notable marks include
Wyatt Martin's 22.81 and
Colin Fitzgerald's 23.03 in the 50-yard freestyle.

The Saints are back on the road on Saturday, Jan. 14, for another matchup with Quincy University in Quincy, Ill.
