LAS VEGAS, Nev. –
Anna Maxwell led the Saints to a seventh-place finish at the Stormin' Blue & White Classic in Las Vegas, Nev., earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team after finishing ninth as an individual. The Saints began the first two days of the tournament at an even 5-5 before a 1-2 finish in bracket play on Tuesday.
Maxwell, a sophomore from Westland, Mich., received an All-Tournament Team nod for the second time in her career after posting a 214.20 average in traditional play including a 239 in a narrow victory over the University of Nebraska.
Baker games on Sunday began with a loss to Tulane followed by a 962-886 victory over Prairie View A&M. The Saints dropped their next two against Vanderbilt and McKendree before rebounding with a 1,071-1,007 win against tournament host Mount St. Mary's.
Newman University and Stephen F. Austin met them with two more losses in the first two traditional matches on Monday, but Maryville fought back. Maxwell,

Natalie Heltne, and
Veronica Petrinec all posted scores north of 220 to lead a win over Texas Southern and followed up with another win over Nebraska.
The Saints hit their stride in the final match on Monday as all five bowlers posted scores over 210 to take down Spalding.
On Tuesday, the Saints lost in the first two rounds of bracket play against Louisiana Tech and Stephen F. Austin and earned seventh place with a third-round victory over Newman University.
Next up for the bowling team is the Northeast Classic beginning on Friday, Jan. 20, in Deptford, N.J.
