QUINCY, Ill. – The Maryville women's swimming team earned a 93-88 road victory over Quincy University on Friday while the men's team took a 117-50 loss for the split. Big performances from seniors

Danielle Callahan led the Saints to their second consecutive victory over the Hawks.

In the women's 400-yard Medley Relay,
Karen Bistrain,
Ella Fries,
Sarah Rosson, and Doss led the way to 11 points with an overall time of 4:23.25. Doss added four more points later in the meet with a second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle after finishing in 27.78.

Callahan kicked off a big day individually with a win in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:39.66) and followed up with a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle and a second-place finish as a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay team.

Top individual finishes for the men include
Caleb Jahnke's second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (50.24) and
Colin Fitzgerald's 2:07.11 for second in the 200-yard backstroke.

With the win, the women get back to the .500-mark at 4-4 while the men drop to 1-8 for the 2022-23 season. Next up is the regular season finale on Saturday, Jan. 28, on the road at Saint Louis University beginning at 2 p.m.
