Indianapolis - Senior libero Taylor Hasbrook was voted volleyball first-team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference, and sophomore outside hitter Ella Brinkmann was named to the All-GLVC second team as announced by the league Thursday. Hasbrook becomes the first Saint to garner first-team honors, while Brinkmann repeats as a second-team selection as voted upon by the league's head coaches.
 
Hasbrook led the GLVC in regular season digs with 592 and ranks second in digs per set at 5.53. She reached double digits in digs in 26 of 27 matches this season. Hasbrook notched at least 20 digs on 19 occasions, capped by a season-high 29 at Southwest Baptist. Her 1,536 digs rank second in program history. Hasbrook tied for the team led in service aces with 29 and let all non-setters with 94 assists. She was named the GLVC Defensive Player of the Week Sept. 4, 2023.
 
Brinkmann topped Maryville with 356 kills and ranked 10th in the league in kills per set at 3.36. She was second on the team in digs at 396, and was third on the team with 54 blocks. Brinkmann registered 19 double-doubles on the season. She had season highs in the match against Missouri S&T when she finished with 21 kills and 25 digs to go along with four blocks.
 
Senior Hannah Scrum was Maryville's honoree for the GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship award.
 
Led by Hasbrook and Brinkmann, the Saints finished sixth in the GLVC regular season standings, their best ever placing in the league. Maryville (16-11, 7-6 GLVC) is the No. 6 seed for the 2023 GLVC Tournament and face No. 3 seed Quincy in an 8:30 pm match Friday, Nov. 17, in Williamsville, Ill.
