INDIANAPOLIS –
Jobey Smith took home the bronze in the 400m dash as Maryville men's track & field placed ninth of 12 at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships over the weekend.

Smith, a junior from Kingston, Jamaica, finished the 400m finals in 50.09 to take third and earn six points for the overall team score. He also helped
Cetris Ivy Jr.,
Rand Mathews, and
Collin Haley tally another couple of points in the 4x400 meter relay, finishing with a collective 3:25.887.

In the heptathlon,
Collin White and
Austin Terry both scored, finishing with 4,059 and 4,049, respectively. White added more points with a mark of 1.86m in the high jump to take seventh.
Monte Weaver rounds out the notable finishes for Maryville, earning three points with a seventh-place finish in the 60m dash finals with a time of 7.16.

In total, the Saints tallied 23.50 points to earn ninth of 12 teams. At the end of the meet,
Austin Terry was selected as the team's GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Individual Award Honoree.  He is now eligible to become one of the school's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the end of the academic year.

The track & field campaign continues with the first outdoor meet of the season, the Miner Invitational, running from March 24-25 in Rolla, Mo.
