EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The Maryville track and field traveled across the river for the Cougar Classic, hosted by SIUE. Over the meet, the Saints tallied a pair of NCAA provisional marks as well as a slew of new PRs.
Highlighting the women's competition is the women's 4x100 relay, with new quartet of Rikailia Goss, E'moni Owens,
Chloe Davis, and
Sarai Brown. A thrilling comeback win earned the Saints a provisional mark of 45.87, ranking them 12th overall in Division competition.
Brown continued her momentum this outdoor, as she walked out with a first-place finish in the 100m, running 11.67 and a new wind-legal personal best in the 200m, crossing the line at 23.68.
Mallorie Metzger showed off in the 800m running a school record and personal best 2:15.58.
Fatimah Almamori followed suit in the 800m a heat after, running a personal time 2:20.38.
Field events were highlighted by junior javelin thrower
Gracie Metzger, who threw a personal best 38.73m, placing her third overall.
Freshman
Harry Mitchell led the charge on the men's side, continuing to best his 400m time, running 46.01 which places him second in all of Division II.
Jadon Salamone, a freshman from St. Charles, MO, ran his best collegiate meet, racking up personal bests in the 200m and 400m dashes.
Bryson Pickard also added a personal best 21.56 in the 200m dash, earning him fourth place overall.
On the field side, sophomore
Carson Miller jumped a personal best of 11'11" in pole vault, landing him a second-place finish in the field.
