EMPORIA, Kan. – Harry Mitchell is once again an NCAA Division II All-American. The freshman placed fifth in the 400-meter finals, earning a spot on the podium for the third time in his young career.
This year's outdoor national meet was held in Emporia, Kan., on the campus of Emporia State University.
Mitchell ran a time of 46.29 in the prelims, the third-fastest mark in the event. His finals time came in at 46.55, landing him in fifth place and making him the first Saint in program history to earn All-America honors in both the indoor and outdoor seasons in the same year.
He also qualified for nationals in the 200 meters but missed the cut for the finals.
Sarai Brown joined Mitchell at the national meet, with the senior narrowly missing the cut for both the 100- and 200-meter finals. Brown ends her career with the Saints after qualifying for nationals in both the indoor and outdoor seasons, becoming the first All-American in program history during the indoor campaign.
