Women’s Hockey Finishes 2022-23 Ranked Sixth, Will Take on ASU to Open Nationals

TROY, Mich. – Maryville University will take on Arizona State University in the American Collegiate Hockey Association National Tournament on Thursday, March 16 at 9 a.m. (CT). The Saints were picked sixth in the most recent ACHA poll to determine their spot in the bracket against the seventh-ranked Sun Devils at the New England Sports Complex in Marlborough, Mass.

The ACHA uses two computer rankings for their national rankings. Ranking A (wins with a goal differential of six) and Ranking B (wins with a maximum goal differential of one) are used to come up with an average of the two rankings.

Maryville played one of the hardest schedules in the country in 2022-23 and finished with a .500 record at 14-14-3. Their most recent game was a loss in the Women's Midwest College Hockey Conference Tournament Semifinals to the first-seeded Liberty University Flames.

The tournament is a double elimination format for seeds three through 10. The Saints will play ASU on day one (March 16) and the tournament will wrap up with the National Championship on Tuesday, March 21.
