Manheim, Pa. – For the fifth time in six years, the Maryville University wrestling posted the highest team GPA as announced by National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA). The Saints were the top Division II Scholar All-America Team for the 2022-23 season with a team GPA of 3.487. In addition, the Saints had 11 individuals selected as Scholar All-Americans.

Austin Wadlow (133);
Joey Williams (184). Jokerst earned the honor for the fifth consecutive season (due to extra seasons for CoVID-19). In total, 318 student-athletes representing 57 institutions were honored individually.

In order for a student-athlete to be nominated to the Division II Scholar All-American Team, he must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale, with that benchmark at 3.25 for those who qualified for the 2023 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships and 3.0 for those who earned NCAA DII All-American status for the 2023 season. The athlete must also have competed in a minimum of four dates of competition.
