Maryville University sophomore Mallorie Metzger earned Great Lakes Valley Conference Runner of the Week for the period ending Oct. 20, 2024. She is the first Saint to earn the weekly award from the league since Abby Stone back on Sept. 28, 2022. Earlier this week, Metzger was the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Division II Runner of the Week.
 
Metzger finished first at the Mikayla Sherrill Fall Classic hosted by UHSP at Willmore Park. She ran the 5K distance in a time of 18:39.3 and won the race by a margin of 12 seconds. Metzger's efforts helped the Saints take second in the team competition.
 
Metzger and the Saints are next in action at the Great Lakes Valley Conference championships Saturday, Oct. 26, in Springfield, Ill.
