PELLA, Iowa — The Maryville track and field teams delivered standout performances at the Dutch Holiday Preview hosted by Central College, racking up several event victories and top three finishes on Saturday.

INS & OUTS
On the men's side,
Bryson Pickard sprinted to victory in the 200-meter dash, clocking a time of 22.70, with teammate
Giovanni Jones close behind in second place at 23.23. Jones also delivered a strong performance in the 60-meter dash, finishing as the runner-up with a time of 6.95. In the 300-meter race, Maryville claimed three of the top four spots, with
Jobey Smith,
Landon Oxford, and
Kaleb Jett finishing second, third, and fourth, respectively. The Saints' 4x400-meter relay team of Oxford, Pickard, Smith, and
Ladarius Williams capped off the running events with a first-place finish, recording a time of 3:29.30.

In the longer distances,
Antwon Friend placed third in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:30.23. The field events also brought success, as
Oliver Robinson cleared 4.00 meters in the pole vault to take second place. Kanden Bolten added to the team's points by finishing second in both the high jump, with a leap of 1.96 meters, and the long jump. Amrish Halberg continued his impressive form in the weight throw, extending his own school record with a toss of 14.67 meters.

The women's team showcased dominant performances across multiple events.
Sarai Brown continued her winning ways, capturing titles in both the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash with times of 7.61 and 25.41, respectively.
Makayla Myers followed closely behind, earning second-place finishes in both events.
Courtney Talley won the 300-meter race with a time of 44.01, narrowly edging teammate
Alexa Lofgren, who finished second by just 0.19 seconds.
Mallorie Metzger cruised to victory in the 600-meter run, clocking 1:42.16, just two seconds off the school record.

The Saints also excelled in hurdles and relays.
Aziah Hubbard claimed the title in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.95. The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Lofgren, Talley, Metzger, and
Fatimah Almamori dominated their race, crossing the line in 4:15.88 to secure another first-place finish.

In the field events,
Grace Graham cleared 1.51 meters to win the high jump, while
Liz Vermillon placed second in the shot put with a throw of 12.85 meters.

The Saints are off until 2024 as they return to battle on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Eastern Illinois University John Craft meet in Charleston, Ill.
