INDIANAPOLIS – For the second weekend in a row, the Maryville track & field team competed in the Circle City at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, this time at the Heartland Invitational.

The two-day meet featured a trio of school records falling, while two Saints tallied NCAA provisional marks.

On record watch,
Sarai Brown improved upon her 200-meter record from last season, running a 24.26 to place seventh in the event. Her time ranks 20th nationally and second within the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Harry Mitchell, still chasing the mark set by
Kristoff Bailey at the SIUC Fast Start, moved even closer, running a 6.82 to hit the NCAA provisional standard and place sixth in the event. Mitchell now sits just 0.01 behind Bailey, with the duo ranking first and second in the GLVC in the 60-meter dash.

Adding records,
Courtney Talley ran a 57.84 in the 400-meter to set a new program-best mark. Talley now holds the top three indoor times in program history in the event.
Mallorie Metzger capped the record performances in the 800-meter, improving upon the program-best mark she set last season with a time of 2:17.05.

A slew of new personal bests were also recorded for the Saints. Illene Limberg clocked a 5:10.15 in the mile, while both
Jayden Atkins and
Devon Paulette posted new PRs in the 60-meter.

The men's 400-meter was filled with personal bests, as
Deontae Anthony,
Bryson Pickard and
Landon Oxford all set new marks. In distance action, Sam Gleason and
Tucker Hinkle both turned in personal-best performances in the 3,000-meter.

Rounding out the meet,
Bailey Riley improved upon his long jump PR.

The Saints are off this coming weekend as they make final adjustments ahead of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships. This year's meet is held inside of the UIndy ARC on the campus of the University of Indianapolis in Indianapolis. More information will be found on GLVCsports.com when it becomes available.
