INDIANAPOLIS – The Maryville track & field teams took their talent to the Circle City this past weekend, competing at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Invitational.
Â
Four program records fell across the two-day meet, highlighted by
Sarai Brown's new mark in the 60 meters and
Harry Mitchell's breakthrough performance in the 200. The performances come with NCAA Indoor Nationals in Virginia Beach, Va., just a month away.

INS & OUTS
Brown finally broke her previous program record in the 60 meters, running a 7.46 in the finals to place second overall. The time now ranks her 11th in NCAA Division II, tied with three other runners, and gives her a 0.05-second lead atop the GLVC leaderboard. Brown and
Rickalia Goss are now two of the three GLVC sprinters to have reached the NCAA provisional mark in the event.
Â
The other women's records to fall came from
Courtney Talley in the 400 meters and the 4x400 relay squad of Talley, Goss, Brown and
Emoni Owens.
Â
Talley clocked a 58.01 in the 400 meters, shaving .02 seconds off her previous record set at the Washburn Open.
Â
Mitchell headlined the men's performances. Already established as one of the nation's top 400-meter runners—currently sitting sixth nationally—the freshman added another record to his resume in the 200. Mitchell won the event while running a 21.18, placing him ninth in the nation.
Â
Outside of the record-breaking efforts, the Saints saw
Deontae Anthony win the 600 meters, with
Landon Oxford close behind in third. The men's 4x400 relay team of Oxford,
Bryson Pickard, Anthony and
Jadon Salamone finished second.
