Indianapolis – Maryville University sophomore defense Haley Ritchie was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending April 7.
 
Ritchie's defensive efforts helped the Saints to two GLVC wins last week. She helped limit Missouri Western to just four goals, tied for the second fewest surrendered in a game this season by Maryville, and had two ground balls and one caused turnover. Ritchie and the Saints defense did not allow a point to MWSU's leading scorer, Sam Pruitt, in the contest. She recorded season highs with five ground balls and five caused turnovers in the victory over Quincy.
 
The unbeaten Saints (12-0) return to action as they head to Rockhurst Friday, April 12. Maryville totes the No. 6 ranking into the contest.
