Maryville University had two selections to the 2024 College Sports Communicators Men's Academic All-American At-Large Teams. Men's lacrosse's Garrett Rivers is a repeat first-team selection, while wrestler Ryan Hermann earns third-team honors. The At-Large men's category encompasses the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.

Rivers graduated from Maryville with a data science major and a 3.91 GPA and is the first Maryville student-athlete to earn first-team CSC Academic All-American honors in consecutive years. He was a cornerstone of the defense and helped the Saints set a school record for wins (13) and earn the program's first NCAA Tournament berth. Rivers was named a third-team All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association and was an All-American Honorable Mention selection by USA Lacrosse Magazine. He was a first-team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference defender and helped the Saints rank ninth nationally in scoring defense at 9.11 goals per game. He had 42 ground balls and 26 caused turnovers this season.
 
Over his career, Rivers finished with 100 GBs and 68 CTs to rank in Maryville's top five all-time in those categories. To cap his career, he was selected to play in the USILA Division I/II Men's All-Star Game. Rivers was a USILA Division II Scholar All-American and voted the GLVC Men's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He earned the GLVC Council of Presidents' Award and also the league's Brother Gaffney Distinguished Scholar honor.
 
Herman is a redshirt junior for the wrestling Saints and was a 2024 NCAA DII All-American. He finished seventh at the DII Nationals at heavyweight and recorded 33 wins on the season. Herman was the 2024 Super Regional 4 Champion at 285. He defeated the No. 1 ranked wrestler in the country in the heavyweight class, who eventually won the national championship, and handed him his only loss of the season. During the regular season, Herman won the heavyweight division at the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open. He was a first-team All-GLVC selection and helped the Saints earn a share of the GLVC regular season title. Herman was selected the 2024 Maryville University Male Student-Athlete of the Year. He has earned GLVC Academic All-Conference every year he has been at Maryville.

The CSC Academic All-American program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. To qualify, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. Rivers and Herman are the 43rd and 44th CSC Academic All-Americans in Maryville Athletics history.
