ST. LOUIS - The Maryville women's team battled versus visiting Walsh but was narrowly edged out 4-3 in Forest Park in a match held at Dwight Davis Center.
 
Luana Luersen and Nazli Saka worked to win their No. 2 doubles match by a 6-3 decision. However, the Cavaliers took the first and third matches to earn the team point.
 
At No. 3 singles, Alvarez went to a third set to claim a 7-6, 2-6, 6-2 decision for the Saints. Luersen won the first and third sets to take her match in the fourth position 6-3, 1-6, 7-6. Carolina Velazquez also went the distance to win her match at No. 5 singles 7-5, 2-6, 6-2. However, the Saints were unable to grab another singles point as Walsh held on for the win.
