ST. LOUIS – 
Victor Ganev and 
Joe Nicometo paced the Maryville men's volleyball team with nine kills apiece as the Saints took down Wabash College in three sets by scores of 25-21, 25-18, 28-26. Ganev hit .571 as the Saints posted a .304 mark.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Set one was tied at 5-5 before the Saints tallied three straight. David Fleisher started the run with a kill, and he teamed with 
Ethan Beyreis-Heim on a block. A 
Joe Nicometo ace made it 8-5. Still up 12-11, the Saints took control with a 6-1 burst. 
Caden Klingbeil started the run with a kill, and after two straight Wabash errors, Ganev's kill made It 16-12. The Saints tacked on three straight points and closed out the win.
 
Up 11-10 in set two, Nicometo had two straight kills to spark a 7-1 outburst. Ganev added to the run, and had two kills late for an 18-11 kill. The Saints kept their margin and took the set on a service error by the Little Giants.
 
In the third, the Saints stretched out to a 13-7 cushion. Wabash chipped away at the deficit and eventually tied the score at 18-18. 
Cameron Lee putdown a kill, and Fleischer tacked on a finish. A solo block by Lee made it 23-20. Maryville reached match point at 24-21 but the visitors rallied to tie the score. The teams traded points before Wabash earned set point at 26-25. A Little Giants error tied the set, and Lee's kill earned match point. The Saints closed out the match on an attack error for a 28-26 decision.
