MEMPHIS, TENN. – The Maryville men's volleyball team traveled to Memphis, Tenn., and swept a pair of matches Saturday afternoon. The Saints defeated Edward Waters University 32-20. 25-13, 25-16 then took all three sets over host LeMoyne-Owen College 25-16, 25-11, 25-21.

Set one featured big runs by both teams. The Saints had set point but EWU saved it and earned their own at 25-24. Maryville scored two straight but the score was tied four more times. At 30-30,
Luke Kraft put down a kill, and
Cameron Lee finally won it for the Saints with a kill for a 32-30 win.

Up 7-5 in set two, the Saints reeled off five straight points. Keyed by three kills and two blocks, the Saints went up 12-5. Maryville used a 5-1 burst to build a double-digit lead and took the set 25-13.

In the final set, the Saints scored the first five points to grab control. Up 9-5, Maryville used a 7-1 burst and pushed its advantage to double digits. EWU got as close as seven points but the Saints closed out the sweep 25-16 on a Kraft kill. The Saints pounded down a .409 hitting percentage, the fourth time they have hit at least .400 in a match this season.

Maryville had a narrow lead for most of set one and was up 16-13 before reeling off four straight points. Kraft had a kill, and
Ethan Beyreis-Heim served an ace. Kraft and
Cameron Lee had back-to-back kills as the Saints cruised to a 25-16 win.

In set two, the Saints tied their mark for fewest points allowed in the 25-11 win. Leading 2-1, Maryville went on a 5-0 run and scored nine of the next 10 points for an 11-2 cushion. The lead ballooned to double digits as the Saints cruised.

In the final set, the Saints were down by six points and still behind at 10-5. A 4-0 run pulled them back into range, and eventually turned a 15-13 deficit to an 18-15 lead. LMC came back to tie the set at 21-all before the Saints closed with a rush. Two kills by
Tristan Benbow stared a 4-0 burst that ended the match 25-21.
