INDIANAPOLIS - The Maryville women's tennis team was on the road at Indianapolis but the Greyhounds handed the Saints a 6-1 defeat.
Victoria Lisson and
Carolina Velazquez was leading 5-4 in the No. 3 doubles match but the Greyhounds took the top two slots to win the doubles point. The Saints were looking to mount a comeback in singles play but UIndy would not give up their early lead and tacked on three victories to close out the match.
Isabella Alvarez picked up the lone point on the day for the Saints as she prevailed in straight sets at No. 4 singles.
The Saints finish the regular season Saturday, April 26, as they host the University of Missour-St. Louis, for an 11 a.m. match at Dwight Davis Tennis Center.
