Eight Saints Chosen for IWLCA All-Midwest Region Teams

The Maryville University women's lacrosse team saw eight Saints selected to the 2025 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Region Teams. The Saints had five first-team honorees and three on the second team.
 
Garnering first-team All-IWLCA Midwest Region honors were Helen Bae, Chloe Elliott, Haley Ritchie, Natalie Tomljenovic and Marissa Zeno. Chosen for the second team were Dorothy Fife, Gianna Guzek and Kylie Pettus.
 
Bae, a junior attacker, was the unanimous pick as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Attacker of the Year and has 69 goals and 24 assists for 93 points this season. In addition, she has snared 141 draw controls and ranks 10th in the country at 7.05 per game. A grad student, Elliott leads the team with 72 goals to go along with 17 assists. She leads the team with 52 ground balls. Ritchie has been one of the defensive leaders on a team that ranks second in scoring defense nationally. A junior, she has 22 ground balls, 20 caused turnovers and has been a critical presence on the team's defensive clearing squad. A sophomore attacker, Tomljenovic has posted 51 goals and is second on the team with 37 assists for 88 total points. She has added 26 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers. A junior midfielder, Zeno has been a standout on both ends of the field. She has 69 goals and leads the team with 38 assists for a team-leading 107 points, to rank seventh nationally in points per game. Zeno has contributed 36 draw controls to go along with 31 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers.
 
A junior, Fife has been a standout defender with 23 ground balls and 17 caused turnovers. She made an outstanding defensive play that stopped Indianapolis at the buzzer to preserve Maryville's 10-9 title win in the GLVC Championship game. Guzek, a sophomore goalie, has backstopped the No. 2 scoring defense and carries a 7.50 goals against average. She has made 114 saves on the season and recorded a save percentage of at least .500 in 12 contests. Pettus has impacted the game on both the offensive and defensive end. The junior midfielder has 26 goals and six assists for 32 points. Additionally, Pettus has come up with 59 draw controls with 23 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers.
 
The Saints have set a school record for wins and bring a 19-1 slate into the 2025 NCAA Division II Tournament Quarterfinal game against Indianapolis Saturday, May 17, in a 3 p.m. game at the Maryville Athletic Complex.
