PEORIA, ILL. - The Maryville women's cross country team was the top non-Division I team and took third place overall at the Bradley Intercollegiate Meet contested at Detweiller Park in Peoria, Ill. Maryville amassed a 117 team score, trailing only DI squads Bradley and Saint Louis.
Lyric Ford was 11th overall and the first non-Division I runner to cross the 5K finish line with a time of 17:13.9.
Ilene Limberg was 19th overall and came home in 17:42.1.
Mallorie Metzger was third for the Saints and 25th and finished in 18:01.1.
Maddie Marschel was next for the squad at 18:37.2.
Olivia Clive was Maryville's fifth runner at 18:47.7, just ahead of
Fatimah Almamori who was two-tenths behind at 18:47.9.
Emma Neal was seventh on the team in 19:07.2.
Host Bradley won the 23-team competition with a perfect score of 15, while fellow DI squad Saint Louis was second with 56 team points.
The Saints are back in action when they run at the Gans Creek Classic Friday, Sept. 26, hosted by the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo.
