Maryville men's lacrosse's Dagan Carlson was chosen by the Saskatchewan Rush with the 13th pick in the sixth round of the 2025 National Lacrosse League (NLL) Entry Draft, which was held Saturday. The Saints grad, who hails from Melfort, Saskatchewan, was the 88th overall selection in the draft. Carlson becomes Maryville's second ever professional draft pick, joining Jake Foster who was drafted by the Albany FireWolves in the fifth round of the 2021 NLL Entry Draft.

Carlson was a second-team All-American as named by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. He helped lead the Saints to the NCAA Tournament semifinals, a 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament title and a school-record 14 victories. A short-stick defensive midfielder, Carlson picked up 55 ground balls this season and ranked third on the team with 17 caused turnovers. He added five goals and five assists to the offensive attack. In addition, Carlson was a first-team All-GLVC selection and was voted as a CSC Academic All-American and also a USILA Scholar All-American.
