Summary
The Maryville men's basketball team had a jumper in the waning seconds misfire as Indianapolis escaped with a 77-76 win over the Saints at Nicoson Hall Saturday afternoon.
Jimmy Barton scored a season-high 18 points to pace Maryville. Indianapolis native
Forrester Sims had 14 points and tied his career highs with nine rebounds and six assists.

What Happened
The Saints grabbed a 16-15 lead on a Barton triple and led the rest of the way in the first half. Later in the opener,
Nolan Berry hit two free throws and Barton drilled another 3-pointer for a 32-23 edge.
Grant Sims scored and a trey by
Casey Teson pushed the cushion to 39-28 before the Saints settled for an eight point lead at the break.

The Saints still led 47-38 and buckets by Grant Sims and Forrester Sims built Maryville's biggest lead of the day at 51-38 with 13:52 remaining in the game. UIndy got back into the game with a 10-2 run. Teson stemmed the run with a 3-pointer. Indianapolis took the lead at 59-58 but the Saints reclaimed the advantage on a
Robin Thompson bucket. The teams traded being in front and the Saints still claimed a 66-65 at the 5:32 mark. UIndy tallied five straight to jump back ahead. The Saints cut the lead to one on two occasions after 3-pointers by Teson and Berry. Teson hit two free throws as Maryville closed to 77-76 with under a minute to go. Barton swiped the ball to set up the potential game winner but the final shot missed the mark as Indianapolis escaped with the win.
