Chase Stegall won the 197 pound division to highlight the day as the Maryville wrestling team recorded seven total placers at the Jim Koch Wisconsin Open Saturday in Kenosha, Wis. The Saints also had four others who were wrestling unattached who grabbed placing finishes.

Stegall began his day at 197 with an 8-2 win over Joshua Piechowski from Minnesota State Mankato, and followed with a 7-3 decision over Parkside's Rodseasn Graham in the quarterfinals. He then took down Purdue's Hayden Filipovich via a 9-1 major to reach the championship bout. Stegall then faced another DI wrestler Ben Vanadia from Purdue and worked a 4-1 victory to claim the title.

Anthony Pisciotta recorded a third-place finish at 125 for the Saints. He recorded a 6-4 win in the quarterfinals but was edged by Division I Nathan Cummings from Purdue. Pisciotta recorded a 16-0 tech fall in the consolation semis and took his third-place match with a 7-3 decision.

At 141,
Taylor Jokerst also earned a third-place finish. After narrowing dropping his opening match, Jokerst won five straight to take third. He started his run with a 9-0 shutout, when recorded a 4-2 win over Michael Leveille from Purdue. Jokerst posted an 8-1 win and reached the third-place match via a forfeit. He then rolled to a 14-1 major to take third.

Tyler Stegall garnered a fourth-place finish at 149 pounds. After dropping a sudden victory bout in the championship draw, he posted consecutive tech falls by scores of 16-1 and 17-0. Stegall advanced with a medical forfeit before recording a fall in 5:30 to reach the consolation semifinals. There, he notched another pin in just 1:36 to reach the third-place bout. Stegall took third as his opponent was unable to compete.

Cody Everhart grabbed a fifth in the 174 classification for the Saints. He won his championship quarterfinal contest 7-5 but dropped into the consolation draw after a semifinal loss to an opponent from DI Wisconsin. Everhart lost his next match but took the fifth-place match after an injury default.

Joey Williams battled to a fourth-place in the 184 pound weight class. He lost in the championship bracket to a wrestler from Illinois but recorded consecutive tech falls by scores of 21-6 and 16-0. In the fourth round of the consolation draw, Williams defeated Purdue's Mitch Hutmacher and then posted a 10-4 decision. In the semis, he beat another DI opponent with a 13-2 major over Macartney Parkinson from Purdue. However, Williams had to default the third-place match due to injury.

At the 197 weight class,
Jay Anding finished in fourth place. He won his opener 1-0 but was beaten by Purdue's Ben Vanadia in the next championship round. Anding posted two straight decisions then recorded a fall over a DI opponent in 1:35 to reach the third-place match against fellow Saint
Donavan Whitted, who was an unattached wrestler. Whitted defeated Anding to close out the bracket.

Maryville had two unattached wrestlers earn places at 133, one at 165 and another at 197.

The Saints will next be in action at the Midwest Classic Dec. 18-19 hosted by Indianapolis.
