Maryville University's Casey Berberich was chosen to the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-American Track and Field Third Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. She is Maryville's 31st CoSIDA Academic All-American, and the sixth this season, helping Saints student-athletes set a new school record.
 
Berberich was chosen the 2021 Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor co-Field Athlete of the Year. She won the 2021 GLVC outdoor heptathlon title with a total of 4,856 points. Berberich reached the Division II provisional qualifying standard but her point total narrowly missed a top-20 mark to advance her to Nationals. Earlier this summer, she was selected for All-Region honors as chosen by the coaches association (USTFCCCA).
 
Berberich also earned the Great Lakes Valley Conference Brother James Gaffney Distinguished Scholar and the Council of Presidents' Academic Excellence Awards. She graduated from Maryville this spring with a degree in physical therapy.
