TOPEKA, Kan. – The Maryville track & field team put on show at the Washburn Invite, notching 10 new PRs as well as numerous school records falling.

The highlight of the meet came from the freshman
Harry Mitchell who broke his own school record in the 400 meter while also placing himself at third in the nation in the event.

Mitchell was not the only Saint to hit an NCAA provisional mark, with
Rickalia Goss hitting one in the 60 and
Amel Abdul-Mumin doing the same in the high jump.

INS & OUTS
Mitchell, in a stacked 400 field, ran a 47.03, placing him in third. On the men's team he was joined by Abdul-Mumin whose jump of 2.04 in the high jump landed him in sixth in the field.
On the women's side, the 4x400 shined brightest, snapping the school record by over seven seconds. The quartet of Goss,
Sarai Brown,
Courtney Talley and
Emoni Owens placed fourth with a time of 3.52:38 in the event. Courtney tally also added a new school record of her own, snapping a decade old mark in the 400 with a 58.03.

Rounding it out was Goss in the 60 who's 7.60 was good enough for an NCAA provo mark and 11th place. Brown was 0.01 behind Goss, finishing with a 7.61.

The Saints head to the Circle City next for the Fairground Invitational set for Friday, Feb. 6, and Saturday, Feb. 7.
