COLUMBIA, Mo. – Maryville track and field turned in a record-setting Friday at the Mizzou Show Me Showcase, highlighted by multiple school records and NCAA Division II provisional marks against a strong Division I-heavy field.
Harry Mitchell led the way with a pair of school records and provisional times. Mitchell was the top non–Division I finisher in the 400 meters, placing third overall in 47.94 to set a school record and hit the NCAA provisional standard. He followed that with another school record and provisional mark in the 200 meters, clocking 21.56 as the top non–Division I runner in the event.
The Saints' men's 4x400-meter relay capped the day with a winning performance. The quartet of
Landon Oxford,
Jadon Salamone,
Bryson Pickard and Mitchell crossed first in 3:13.70, setting a school record and securing an NCAA provisional mark.
On the women's side,
Emoni Owens tied the school record in the 400 meters, breaking one minute for the first time in her career with a time of 58.13.
Maryville added several top finishes across the meet.
Sarai Brown placed second in the 60 meters with a time of 7.57, while
Amel Abdul-Mumin finished second in the triple jump.
Amrish Hallberg earned a sixth-place finish in the weight throw, and
Ladarius Williams placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles.
