ROLLA, Mo. – The Maryville Track & Field team put together a solid showing at the Dewey Allgood Invitational in Rolla, Mo., Saturday, pulling in 13 podium finishes in the Missouri S&T hosted meet.
One school record fell for the Saints as
Amrish Hallberg brought in a new hammer throw record.
INS & OUTS
For the men's squad, Sam Gleason, the 4x100 and 4x400 teams were the lone event winners. Gleason brought home the gold in the 5K, runninga. 15.24.22 to pace the field. The 4x100 team of
Giovanni Jones,
Jayden Atkins,
Bryson Pickard and
Harry Mitchell arrived at 40.99 to win their race. Mitchell and Pickard also took their talents to the 4x400, joining
Landon Oxford and
Jadon Salamone in the event to add the second relay win of the day for the men's team.
Outside of the event wins, Atkins also led the pack in the 100, tossing in a 10.78 for second place.
Deontae Anthony, a true freshman, was the leader on the 400-meter, landing in fourth with a 50.48 time.
For the women's team, it was a day for the Metzger sisters as
Mallorie Metzger brought home the win in the 800 meter and
Gracie Metzger won the javelin toss to account for two of the five event titles for the women's team.
Lyric Ford added the second event title for the mid-distance crew winning the 1500, while senior
Emma Neal won the 5K, running a 18.45.30.
