BLOOMINGTON, Ill. –
Nia Lyles led the way to a second-place finish for the women's track & field team on Saturday at the Titan First Chance Meet. The senior tallied two of the team's four individual victories in the shot put and the weight throw.

Casie Cullinane picked up her ninth career win in the pole vault at Illinois Wesleyan, topping the other three participants. Her 3.16m effort bested a trio of Millikin University vaulters to give her the gold in the season's first competition.

Nia Lyles and
Chloe Davis also won their respective events. Lyles won a field of 27 athletes in the shot put with a 13.28m toss and later won the gold in the weight throw at 15.37m. Davis, a freshman, won a field of 34 with a 7.90 finish in the 60m.

In the 4x400, Davis,
Sarai Brown,
Lorena Alanso Sanchez, and
Makaila Williams took second out of five teams. Brown started the race with a 1:09.708, followed by Davis (1:07.196), Alanso (1:04.044), and Williams (1:04.243). Brown also took home an individual second-place finish in the 60m after finishing with a 7.92.

The Saints are back in action on Saturday, Jan., 21, at the Snow Bird Invite hosted by Illinois College.
