ELSAH, Ill. – Maryville track & field took home five event wins at the Principia Relays over the weekend and broke three school records. The Saints were led by
Nia Lyles (weight throw),
Cetris Ivy Jr. (500m), and
Sarai Brown (60m) who all broke school records at Principia College.

Lyles, the reigning Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, tallied another event win in the shot put with a 26.15m effort and placed second in the weight throw with a school record 15.44m toss. Freshman
Sarai Brown also won a pair of events, taking the gold in the 200m (26.15) and the 60m (7.78). Lastly, the 4x400 team took a victory with a final time of 4:13.54.

On the men's side, heptathlon participant
Austin Terry won the 1000m with a final time of 2:47.60. He also took the silver with a mark of 1.86m in the high jump. A second-place finish from the 4x400 team (3:36.07), and third-place finishes from
Gavin McDonald (pole vault, 4.25m) and
Caleb Pyle (5000m, 15:35.53) rounded out the notable finishes for the men.

Next up for the Saints is the Washburn Open in Topeka, Kan. The two-day event is set to begin on Friday, Feb. 3, and will run through Saturday, Feb. 4.
