ROLLA, Mo. — The Maryville Track and Field team kicked off its outdoor season with a strong showing at the Miner Invitational hosted by Missouri S&T in Rolla, Mo.
The Saints snagged five event titles, with four coming from the women's side with
Sarai Brown's title in the 200-meter being the highlight. For Brown, she claimed both the 100-meter and 200-meter crowns, her 200-meter sitting her with an NCAA provo.Â
The 4x100-meter relay team of
Makayla Myers, Brown,
Chloe Davis, and
Lorena Alonso won their event to continue the Saints' success. In the field events,
Julia Hahn claimed first place in the shot put with a mark of 13.07 meters to round out the women's teams top placers. Â
On the men's side,
Bryson Pickard claimed the Saints' lone victory, winning the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.10.
Taylor Mason also posted a high finish, taking second place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 9:57.25.Â
Freshman
Emoni Owens made a strong collegiate outdoor debut, taking fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.56.Â
