WARRENSBURG, Mo – The Saints competed close to home, traveling to Warrensburg, Mo. for the Outdoor Mule Relays.
The 4x100 relay team of
Makayla Myers,
Sarai Brown,
Chloe Davis and
Emoni Owens were the story of the day on Friday, with the team winning the event as well as breaking the school record. The group now sits 34th the country.
That was not the lone event win for the day, with Brown capturing the 100-meter title, falling shy of her own school record. She also finished second in the 200-meter with a 24.14, hitting a NCAA provo. Both
Alexa Lofgren and
Lucy Grier added PRs in the 200.
Mallorie Metzger's third place in the 800-meter, and
Lyric Ford's 1500-meter fourth place paced the mid-distance crew. Ford earned a PR in that race, with
Savannah Lesher, Maddie Marschel and
Emma Neal also hitting new personal bests.
Lesher led the distance crew for the women, with a PR for seventh place, joined by
Kayla Winecoff who also tallied a personal best. Oliva Clive added a PR in the 3K Steeplechase, while the 4x400 relay team finished second.
On the men's side,
Kanden Bolton's title in the long jump was the highest finish.
Landon Oxford tossed in a third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, also breaking the program record. The third-places kept coming with the 4x100 team of
Terry Towah,
Landon Oxford,
Giovanni Jones and
Bryson Pickard finishing third in the event.
Justin Brewer added on a seventh-place mark in the 3K Steeplechase and Amel Adbul-Mumin a fourth in the high jump to round out the top finishes for the Saints.
