Softball Begins GLVC Tournament Run Wednesday

EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The first taste of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) tournament in the Chanin Billings-era of Maryville softball is here. The No. 3-seeded Saints will battle the No. 6-seeded UIndy Greyhounds in the first round on Wednesday, April 30, at 1 p.m. CT.

The tournament will be held in East Peoria, Ill., at the EastSide Centre in a double-elimination bracket.

The Saints went 27-24 with a stellar 19-9 mark in conference play to earn the three seed and will make their sixth appearance in the dance, with it marking a five-year stretch of continuous berths since 2021. The Saints have plentiful history with the Greyhounds, having seen them in the tournament three of their last four times in the GLVC tournament. Despite the all-time record, the Saints took care of the Greyhounds handily at their place earlier this season, winning both of a twin-bill 8-1.

Each day of the four-day event, ticket prices will be $15 for adults, $5 for youth (ages 6-12th grade) and students (with ID), and children 5 and under are free. Tickets should be purchased prior to arrival at GLVCsports.com/tickets.

All games will be streamed live behind a paywall on GLVCSN.com, the GLVCSN iOS and Android mobile apps, as well as the GLVCSN OTT platforms on Roku TV, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Android TV. More broadcast information will be released later in the week.
