LINCOLN, Neb. – Lauren Russo, the Head Coach of the Maryville Women's Bowling team, will fight for 2025 U.S. Women's Open at Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln, Nebraska tonight.
The stepladder will start at 6 p.m. CT on the CBS Sports Network. The winner will take home the coveted green jacket and the iconic eagle trophy.
In professional bowling, a stepladder is a series of one-game matches, where the winner of each match advances to face the next highest ranked bowler.
Russo enters the stepladder finals as the No. 2-seed, making her first stepladder finals of her professional career and first professional TV appearance, previously at Intercollegiate Team Championships (ITC) as a member of the McKendree Bearcats.
Russo will have at least one person behind her during the show, as husband and Professional Bowlers Association titlist,
Matt Russo, also an assistant coach, has been at Sun Valley Lanes all week.
"Matt supports me with whatever I decide I want to do," said Lauren. "He reassures me whenever I'm unsure on a ball change or what the lanes are telling me. He's always there to lean on and provide adequate support needed."
