KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Maryville women's soccer team slid down to No. 16 in the United Soccer Coaches (USC) NCAA Division II Poll, appearing at No. 16in this Tuesday's poll after two-straight road ties.
The Saints sit at 5-0-3, having to settle for draws in their last two contests, including a 0-0 defensive battle against a stout Drury Panthers squad.
Ashlyne Hunt remains on top of the offensive stats for the Saints with eight points on four goals over just 11 shots on the year.
Allison Estanich hgas been the engine in the midfield, registering four assists on the season, the team leading mark.
Defensively, the Saints young unit led by goalkeeper
Agnes Vilen and anchored by Greta Ståhl and
Carissa Speight have limited opponents to just .50 goals per game and only 6.6 shots per game. They sit at No. 19 in all of NCAA DII in goals-against average.
Homecoming week for the Saints starts off on Friday with a bout against the Lincoln Blue Tigers, while Sunday, Oct. 5 features a battle of the 314 between Maryville and crosstown rival UMSL.
