COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - The Maryville University field hockey team was ranked third in the nation in team GPA and garnered the prestigious National Academic Team Award from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. The 2025 Saints were one of 19 NCAA Division II teams honored by with the 2025 National Academic Team Award. To earn the recognition, squads must post a team grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year.
The Saints had nine student-athletes who earned the Scholars of Distinction award - Andra Alexander, Grace Austin, Calista Crocker, Ava Eiler, Liz Hind, Tia Sansone, Consuelo Torres Moore, Cloey Turiello, Skyler Turiello. To garner the distinction, student-athletes had to achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher.
In addition, Maryville had 15 individuals named to the 2025 NFHCA National Academic squad for recording a GPA of at least 3.50: Andra Alexander, Grace Austin, Jojo Cox, Calista Crocker, Jessie Earley, Ava Eiler, Cypress Guinn, Liz Hind, Lachlan Sanders, Tia Sansone, Consuelo Torres Moore, Cloey Turiello, Skyler Turiello, Denise Van der Spuy and Megan Zalewski.
