Abby Duethman whose career women’s basketball honors were so impressive the Hall of Fame waived the usual five-year waiting period requirement and chose to induct her immediately. In 2012-13, she was named Second-Team All-American by the Women’s Division II Bulletin to become the program’s first Division II All-American.
Duethman also was chosen as the 2013 Great Lakes Valley Conference women’s basketball Player of the Year. As a senior, she averaged 15.9 ppg to rank fourth in the GLVC and led the conference in rebounding at 9.9 rpg. Duethman is Maryville’s all-time leader in scoring (1,463) and rebounding (633), holds the double-double record with 33 and was a three-time All-Conference selection.
During her junior season, she helped Maryville win its first GLVC Tournament title as the Saints won four consecutive games to earn the school’s first NCAA Tournament bid in the institution’s first year of eligibility as a member of Division II.
