Lonnie Folks,'82 & '88 was involved in Maryville Athletics for over 20 years. He was a member of the men's soccer and baseball teams and was named the men's soccer Freshman of the Year in 1978.
He later coached the women's soccer, women's basketball and softball teams. He was a two-time SLIAC Coach of the Year in both women's soccer and softball. The women's soccer team won three consecutive conference titles (1996-98) and also won the conference tournament crown in 1998. The 1996-98 teams all posted undefeated conference records. The softball squad won the SLIAC title in 1997.
He coached two SLIAC Players of the Year, three SLIAC Newcomers of the Year and 80 All-Conference award winners.
